    The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) was founded in 1994 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Laboratory for Computer Science

    b.Who can join the W3C? What does it cost to join?

    Organizations may join the World Wide Web Consortium. W3C's processes are designed for organizational participation. They do not have a class of Membership for individuals. Public participation in W3C is possible in a number of ways. Some individuals who are not employed by a W3C Member may participate as an "invited expert" in a Working or Interest Group, subject to approval by the group Chair and Team contact. W3C fees vary depending on the annual revenues, type, and location of headquarters of an organization.

    c.The W3C home page lists a number of technologies. Choose one that interests you, click on its link, and read the associated pages. List three facts or issues you discover.

    I was interested in their Internationalization. (1)I found that The W3C Internationalization (I18n) Activity works with W3C working groups and liaises with other organizations to make it possible to use Web technologies around the world, regardless of language, writing system, or culture. But (2)I also found their website is only available in English, Chinese and Japanese. And (3)when I clicked Japanese pages most of it was not working either under construction or just directed me to English page.

    It was created to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world.

    b.Determine which local chapter is closest to you? Visit its website. List the website's URL and an activity or service that the chapter provides.

    Los Angels and South California Chapter Their website did not have much information. But it says that they help by Partnering with local organizations to deliver projects that enhance and support the internet, responding to the needs of Southern Californians and by spreading awareness of Internet policy issues and ISOC’s work.

    c.How can you join the Internet Society? What does it cost to join? Would you recommend that a beginning Web developer join the Internet society? Why or why not?

    It looks like that Membership in the Internet Society is free and open to anyone. I think it is donation base. I think this society seems to be a great place to connect with people and get some new skills, possible opportunities and help society. But I am introvert and I rather not join anything like this personaly. Maybe if the organization I work for is a part of it, that is great. But I will most likely not going to be part of it.

As websites have become more image and media intensive, the number of requests needed to display a web page and its related files have increased. Amajor benefits of HTTP/2 will be quicker loading of web pages.
